Cannabis Nurse Care Coordinator:

• The nurse care coordinator is a guide who is accountable for overseeing the community-level team process and takes the lead on cross-system/agency collaboration, pooled resources, collective mandates, family voice and selection, and consensus-building.
• This nurse also acts as one point of entry to the full-service system, serves a family instead of a particular child, and follows the family as long as they’re receiving any services from any system.

The Leaf Nurse Network (LNN) provides staff and clinician education in partnership with Radicle Health

• Self-Paced, Online Curriculum, Virtual staff-led training or In-person training.
• LNN offers the Radicle Health cannabis curriculum packages and modules for nurses, other healthcare professionals, and cannabis students at a range of price points.
• Radicle Health provides 3-hour training sessions for industry staff, and can provide consulting services about how to effectively meet the needs of patients— For example, the older adult is the fastest growing demographic of cannabis users and a patient group with unique requirements. 

The Leaf Nurse Network provides education and guidance services from an experienced team of cannabis nurses

• On site at Member facility or off-site community setting (1-2 hour blocks)
• Business identifies community partners and secures date/time for Nurse Led cannabis/Hemp Education Sessions
• Presentation for General Public Education (1-2 hour blocks)

 At Leaf Nurse Network (LNN), we understand the complexity of studying a medicine that is a schedule I drug. Researching a schedule I drug is complex and laborious. Randomized controlled clinical trials are the gold standard in research and while we would love to see more of them, we understand that consumers are using cannabis medicine so we need to better understand the implications of their use. Whether it’s with recreational/adult use consumers or medical card holding consumers, the LNN nurses collect consumer data that can inform the medical community plus the cannabis industry about consumer and patient outcomes. The data we collect can help provide insights into consumer and patient use patterns, side effects, benefits, dosing, and condition specific responses. 

Nurses have an important role to play in supporting scientific research into the medical uses of cannabis and its constituents in scientifically valid investigations as part of LNN Research Partnerships. As a part of this role, the LNN nurses become part of the research support staff for those cannabis brands and medical institutions who intend to study cannabis and consumers by:

• Providing information on the process needed to conduct clinical research using cannabis.
• Providing the resources to collect data to support real world evidence
• Supporting brand credibility and loyalty
• Substantiating marketing claims
• Providing support to consumers in brand selection
